Complaints

Pending complaints represent unproven allegations.  On investigation, many complaints are found to be without merit or not of sufficient seriousness to merit disciplinary action against the licensee and are dismissed.

All written complaints received regarding behavioral health professionals are reviewed by the investigations department. An investigation is completed upon those complaints that fall within the jurisdiction of the Board.  The appropriate credentialing committee reviews the complaint, response and all investigative materials.  The credentialing committee makes a recommendation to the Board following the review of the complete investigative file.  A Board meeting is then scheduled and the Board reviews the complete investigative file.  The Board has final authority of all actions taken regarding a complaint.
